Easton turns 7!!!

Easton has been obsessed with horses for some time now. I don't really know where it started or why...but it's legit. I thought it would be fun to take him and do a horseback riding lesson for his birthday. I called the local farm here that we have visited several times for school field trips. Thankfully, she was available to do a lesson on his actual birthday which fell on Friday. He was in heaven...it was the sweetest thing to witness....just pure excitement. He loved every minute of it. We forgot he was supposed to wear jeans and boots..and we showed up with shorts and sneakers! He's very adamant on finding some cowboy boots for the next time he gets to go. We let him pick his birthday dinner...steak of course. We grilled some steaks and had a cute little horse cake...he requested chocolate. Ryan and Amanda came over to eat some cake with us. My little Easty ("Mom don't call me Easty") is now 7. He's counting down the days until he can be baptized like his big brother..and not sit in a booster seat in the car. We love you Easton! Happy birthday big man!

Sea Breeze/ First Day of School

I pulled these pictures off of facebook. If I don't use my big DSLR camera, I use my cell phone...which doesn't take the best pictures. Jim and I took the older kiddos to Sea Breeze for the day. Grandma took the babies and went to Elmira to see her sisters. It was a fun trip...beautiful day and a great way to end the summer before school. This school year, Tristan is going into 3rd grade, Easton 1st and Brinley Kindergarten. They were really excited to ride the bus together with the neighbor kids.

House Color

Our house has cedar siding, which needs to be re-painted every few years. We decided to get it done and I was so excited! I picked out a really pretty neutral green color...we went camping for the week and when we came home...the house was BLUE! I guess the swatch looked NOTHING like it was supposed to and since no one was home to stop the painter...we now have a blue house lol! Not what I wanted, but I'm adjusting to it. We had the doors painted cream color to match the green house...so when the doors were against the blue it looked horrid. We had to re-pay the painter to come back and paint the doors all white and the front door red. Oh man. At least it's done and I'm counting down until we get to paint again so I can make it the color I really wanted! :)

Camping

We bought a big travel trailer for camping this summer. Since our camper is giant and needs electric, most sites were already taken. Amanda got a new job as an LPN and booked a trip with Crystal and Austin at the end of June. We took her site and camped with them at Fair Haven. The kids loved every minute of it. It was our first time using the camper and because it was brand new, we couldn't get the AC to come on. The entire week it was 90 degrees!!!!! It was a hot box! No fan, no nothing! We tried everything! Come to find out, the fan was just stuck and needed to be bumped to kick it into gear! Unreal! haha! For some reason the only photo I have is of Brinley and Rileigh on the playground. I know I took more, so hopefully I will find them and add to this! Our next trip was to Selkirk with my mom. Her sister was supposed to come so she booked her own site and set up a tent for them. Well...they never showed up so she was solo in that tent lol. We had a nice relaxing week there. Beautiful weather....it was actually really cold a couple of days. I don't think we even went to the beach at all. We just hung out at the site and the kids hit up the rec center every 2 hours for their activities. These are the memories my kiddos will have as they grow older....at least I hope so :) You may have noticed a cute little white puppy! Oaklie joined our family on July 4th! Brinley and I found her at the pet store in Oswego. We went back and seen her again and almost bought her but I was too worried it would be too much on me. Finally, the 4th of July...mom and I went to JCPenney to look for a dress for my cousin's wedding and we stopped in...she was still there but in someone's arms! A couple was ready to buy her and walk out of the store with her...so I told mom...let's stop back after we shop and if she's gone it wasn't meant to be. Of course we stopped back and she wasn't up front so I thought she was gone :(. We walked to the back of the store...and there she was...cute as can be...needless to say...she's now mine :)

Baseball 2014

Tristan refused to get in the same individual shot as Easton. It was quite the scene and I told him if he didn't, I wasn't paying for him to get it done. Needless to say, Easton did the shot and Tristan bailed. He really wanted me to understand he wanted his OWN photo and felt like he ALWAYS had to share with Easton. Poor kid. I felt bad and will not make them share a photo again haha! Here they both are in their uniforms! :)

The Little Stinkers

These two dolls are finally getting some hair. When one does something, the other does it. When one wants something, the other wants it. When one gets something, the other is entitled to it too. These girls are seriously the best babies and are so much fun. I'm so lucky to have them both. Here's also a quick photo I snapped of all my kiddos <3<3<3 So grown up!

NYC Trip :)

We decided spur of the moment to take the older kiddos to NYC for the weekend. We left after school Fri (Memorial Day Weekend) and stayed 2 nights. We walked and walked and walked some more. We stayed right near Times Square. It was such a fun trip and a great experience for the kids. Hopefully they will always remember going. We survived the 5 hour car ride there, went to Olive Garden for dinner and just chilled in the hotel the first night. When we got up, we went to the wax museum and walked down toward central park. We were so tired of walking, we decided to do a carriage ride through central park, which ended up being one of our favorite things! It was beautiful and so neat to ride around and site see. After that we walked to the natural history museum and toured that. It was massive and no way we even looked at half of the stuff there. It was raining really bad when we finished and our hotel was like 50 blocks away. We decided to walk a little ways to the subway and took the kids on it for their first ride. Of course we went to the big Toys R Us store and the American Girl store. Will we ever go back?...hmmm...not sure about that one. It's something I think everyone should experience for sure. It's so neat to be right in the heart of NYC...so many tourists, people trying to sell stuff...just the hustle and bustle of it all...crazy! Oh one more thing before I forget...Tristan seen a photo of chili cheese fries from Nathans...so all day he kept asking for them...of course he was thrilled when we agreed to eat there!

Easter 2014

We celebrated Easter with my family at Austin and Crystal's house. The kids had a blast doing an Easter egg hunt out back. There's nothing better than getting together with family on the holidays. We are so blessed to have such a great family.
