Fair Haven 2011

We went camping for a week this year. For the most part we had decent weather...minus the entire day of rain...and an entire day of like 60 degrees lol...it was so much more relaxing this year since the kids are getting older. The boys loved to ride their bikes and Brin loved riding in her stroller on walks. Ryan and Amanda camped a little ways down from us, so we walked over to see them quite a bit. It seems like every year we count down the days until we get to go camping...and then it's over so darn fast. The most memorable part of our trip was when Jim and I took the kids down to the main boat dock fishing one night. Brinley picked up my car keys and when Tristan seen her he yelled at her to put them down...well she did what she normally does...threw a fit and chucked them into the water...there we were..no cell phones...no people...at 6:30pm...3 kids and NO KEYS! Yes, the car was locked too. Since I was wearing sneakers, I took the long...LONG...hike back up to our campsite to get our truck. Anyhow...we had to drive home to get the spare key...then were able to unlock and drive the van back up to our site. The next morning Jim jumped in the water which was like 12 feet deep..equipt with Tristan's spongebob goggles...and after 4 dives to the bottom...found them!!!! Oh man..I wish I had that all on camera. It was a site...I couldn't stop laughing.
Ry and Amanda cooked us a yummy chicken and dumpling dinner in their dutch oven. Well..Brin so nicely tripped and fell...and her hand landed right on a smoking hot coal...poor girl :( She was okay though..after I drove to the camp store to get some children's tylenol and we borrowed a first aid kit from a fellow camper. Lesson learned...I should never go camping without a first aid kit...especially since I have THREE little kids haha!

I was dying laughing at the key story to the point where I had to read it to my husband. I'm so glad you got the keys back and thanks for sharing the story. It made my night. Oh and glad Brinley is ok too. :)
